One good trick is, when you hear the rustle, mark the spot, so when you return you can slow down and have a good look at where it was. I was timing how long it took Sandies to return to basking last weekend, from being startled. Today was mainly a day to try and get photographs though I did log any sightings I had. Of course, I'll be wanting to increase the total number of animals seen next time. Some of us went on there after the field trip. They seem well established in this location and were scattered over a wide area. In fact, they were our commonest reptile.
